Three of the robotics teams from Kilby Laboratory School have qualified for the VEX Robotics World Competition, which is slated for April 29 through May 4 in Dallas. Only 13 VEX World slots were available for Alabama, and the Kilby teams earned their berths after winning at the regional competition that took place recently in Auburn.

FLORENCE, AL – The University of North Alabama Division of Advancement has recently launched Healthcare Heroes Plaza; the site is directly in front of the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions, which is housed in Harrison Hall, and is designed to honor UNA alumni and friends who serve in a healthcare or healthcare-related field.
Dr. Butler Cain, a Communication Professor at the University of North Alabama, has been invited to present a series of lectures at the Nuremberg Institute of Technology in Nuremberg, Germany, in May. The Ohm Lecturship Program is invitation-only and aims to “promote internationality in teaching and to increase the number of lectures in [the] English language,” according to the institute.
Kilby Laboratory School’s Robotics Program recently qualified for the Alabama State Regional VEX IQ Championship competition that recently took place at Auburn University. Only 40 teams from the state earned the chance to compete in this competition, with an impressive six teams hailing from Kilby Laboratory, which is on the University of North Alabama campus.
The Department of Social Work at the University of North Alabama is celebrating its 50th anniversary. This will be commemorated during its annual Social Work Conference on March 12 that will be from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the of the Guillot University Center.
